No. Ms. Alibhai-Brown is merely pointing out that people of colour should not work for a party that is institutionally racist, sexist and xenophobic.

Yes it is true Labour has failed on many counts, but Mr Cameron's promises to make the Tory party more diverse are nothing more than rhetoric.

I like you Mr. Cleverly, I think you are a smart man, but you will one day realise that the Tories are the party of white haired, white skinned, partially reconstructed racists.

Yes they have stopped making obviously racist remarks and don't want to repatriate you back to Africa any more, but surely you can see that despite the 'corporate' rhetoric the personal views of those in the upper parts of the party are generally not in conformity with a view of equality of races.

I read a lot of American sites and have American friends. If Alibhai-Brown had used the 'Uncle Tom' comment there, I have no doubt she would've been sacked. I don't think she has any idea how loaded a phrase that is. I find it immensely offensive as a Brit, and I'm not party to its ugly history.

She is, in essence, suggesting that any non-white Conservative-supporter is a sellout, brain-washed and pandering to the white man. Ashamed of our skin. It's disgusting. We can't possibly have minds of our own to decide who to support. Suggesting a racial group should blindly vote for a certain party is unbelievably racist.

I don't think the Left have yet got over the fact that many lower income people support the Tories, either.

This sort of cr*p shows the real intellectual divide between the Left and the Right: the Left want equality of outcome (which leads to a race to the bottom) while the Right want equality of opportunity and meritocracy.

I usually find that it's the people who cry "racist!" who are the most divisive themselves.
