Boris' near death experience

Boris was very nearly squished by a car which was flung across the road by passing van. While it may sound like the set up for a joke it is true and was all caught on CCTV.

A chap called Beatnic photographed the aftermath and stick the pics on flickr.

Will B said...: It was an accident. The doors at the back of the lorry caught the car after the lorry went over the 'traffic calming measure' and the door unlatched. Chill WCT.; 22/5/09 22:00

Good on the mayoral party for cycling a clear distance in the road and for being seen in the first place to be overtaken. Sad that there are people, who pay road tax, have done tests, etc. etc. who are allowed on the road who can drive in such a way.; 23/5/09 15:38
spindrift said...: A spot check on lorries in ondon found that every single one was either in a dangerous condition or the driver had exceeded the permissable hours or was uninsured. This accident was caused by a man who didn't even check that anyone was hurt, look at the film, he goes straight to the back of the lorry. half of all cyclists in London are killed by lorries, the homicidally reckless actions of this driver (note how he goes much too fast over the bump) help explain why. idris said...: You can see from this photo that the road is wide enough for two trucks to pass side by side; I don't think he was guilty of passing too close. He was going pretty fast but unless it's a 20mph zone, I doubt he was breaking the speed limit.

His only error was not ensuring the safety of his cargo, and I do hope he is prosecuted for this and for endangering lives.; 23/5/09 20:23
