Peter Kay's Pop Factor was quality television, the spoof single was an awful song, truly dire. It is now number one!!!!!!!!!!!!!Laugh or cry? Both I think.
UPDATE:
Well, all my "down with the kids" credibility is blown. I have been informed by someone younger and cooler than me ("is it possible" I hear you cry) that Geraldine, aka Peter Kay actually got to number two.
Oooooooops.

Boris Johnson's 'I'm a celebrity buffoon mayoral superstar upper-class twit Jesus Christ Livingstone strictly Windsor on Thames' campaign was quality politics, the spoof candidate was an awful politician, truly dire. He is now mayor!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We now have more exploding cabs than bendy buses, quite right that the joke candidate should half the number of checks for taxis.
Er, it's number two.
This is funny though:A made-up pop star could be about to beat X Factor winner Leon Jackson to the top of the charts.Spot the made up popstar!
Niether younger nor cooler, just a case of reading the second paragraph in the article! :-)
