Gordon Brown is currently trotting around the world telling all who care to listen how he saved the world from Godzilla, alien invasion and financial collapse.
We are not out of the woods yet, as today's unemployment figures prove. Brown should stop bigging himself up and get on with being the Prime Minister.

Well that has to be a first - a Conservative politician concerned about unemployment figures.
It is not Gordon bigging up himself (let's try not to split infinitives) it is the rest of the world. I think credit where it is due, Gordon has done more than most to limit the damage to the world economy. This is exactly what the British Prime Minister should be doing, he is getting on with the job very well for a change, which is probably what annoys you most.
Unlike his sell off of gold, his purchase of bank shares seems to be at a good rate and I expect will pay dividends for the national economy in years to come.
The more Brown associates himself with this attempt to rescue us from a recession caused in the UK by his own policies, the more he'll reap the whirlwind when it doesn't work out.
There may be a slump in some countries, but few seem to notice that most others are riding out the storm easily. They prepared themselves with efficient fiscal programs. Brown and Bush did not.
It's almost funny to see Brown digging so furiously without realising that he's in a hole at all.
