The government and local authorities have already abused anti-terrorist legislation to spy on members of the public - one of the worst examples being when sensitive recording equipment was planted in a neighbour's flat by a local council after a complaint about 'noisy wardrobe doors and loud footsteps' from the neighbouring property. The detection equipment could pick up private conversations.
The government have also arrested an Australian man recently at Heathrow Airport in what is nothing more than a blatant attack on free speech. The arrested man holds some pretty unpleasant views, but has not committed a crime in this country. He was, however, arrested under a 'European Arrest Warrant', something that the government assured us would only be used for terrorists and drug dealers when they signed up for it.
This is the most corrupt and sleazy government in history - the similarities to the East German government of the 1960s to 1980s are frightening.
... or the 30s and 40's come to that. More importantly, I hear tales of governmental/local council bodies who have money in Icelandic banks NOT paying their suppliers because of the block on the accounts. Just when you thought supplying the Government was safe...... And your bank is simply not interested in helping ( ooh no, can't be sure how long this will last/ could be a longterm problem, sooo sorry, can't help really. Wages cheques? No problem, we'll bounce them and charge you £35 each.....)
If you would like to register a protest at Gordon Brown's action against Iceland there is an online petition at http://www.indefence.is/ Icelanders are not terrorists!
The English Government headed by Gordon Brown have been quick to denounce Alex Salmonds' 2005 comment about the Arc of Prosperity, relative to the Iceland Banks against the SNP.
However when this comment was made about Iceland, Gordon Brown Prime Minister Tony Blair was encouraging Councils throughout the United Kingdom to invest Millions of TAX PAYERS MONEY in Icelandic banks for big interest pay outs.
Money that until the collapse of these banks was probably being used for under the table bonuses.
If you think it is a disgrace that the Westminster Government has used anti terrorist laws against peaceful Icelanders. Look at what they have done to the Scot's in recent years and their only curse was striking oil in 1974.

Par for the course in GB's GB 2008.
