I have always thought that Gordon Brown was rubbish. Much of our current situation is a direct result of his incompetence as Chancellor or his desire to create party political attack lines as Prime Minister.
I completely understood why David Cameron felt that he had to be supportive of the government in these difficult times, I'm not sure I would have been quite so measured but I'm not the leader of the opposition. Having supported the bail-out plan (to help with the short term situation) it is now right that we turn people's attention to the underlying problem. Gordon Brown.
This isn't just tribal politics on my part, I genuinely feel that Brown is damaging the country and making the lives on many British people worse, starting with the very people he should be helping.
As I have already said, the bank bail-out was not a triumph, it was a disaster. It's about time we told people that and reminded them why.

It is about time, although I wouldn't have supported Brown as he nationalised some banks. We have so much ammunition on Brown and Labour, we can start using it now and still have plenty in reserve in 18 months time.
On the doorstep in Harrow, which I presume is reasonably representative of outer London at least, hardly anyone thinks Gordon is doing a good job - and most think he is the master of this disaster
There are a lot of people with you on this one, James.
Gordon B was indeed always rubbish, but -- just like "Phony Tony" Blair -- it was all hidden beneath a thin veneer.
Now that has gone, millions of people are waking up to the truth, though many are still too embarrassed to admit it and are sticking to their guns. Others are too dependent upon State hand-outs to vote-out Labour, so the polls aren't anywhere near as conclusive and unequivocal as they really ought to be by now.
We need to keep plugging the message that all of this was effectively caused by Brown, regardless of the (not exactly unexpected) current international situation, for which he made no preparation whatsoever.
Yet surprisingly (I am genuinely surprised) The gap between rich and poor has narrowed since labour came to power!!
How can this be?
