I spend the weekend getting in some family time and when I check out the news it's full of bad news about Tories and money.
Do I have to keep an eye on everything myself?
I have little doubt that Caroline Spelman will be fine, embarrassed but fine. If your constituency office is at your house it isn't unreasonable to pay someone already in your house to do some work.
The situation with a few of our MEPs looks a little less clean cut.

I don't think anybody expects any better from the Conservatives, or at least not those of us who remember Major's last parliament.
Of course in the last 10 years Labour have proved they can be even more corrupt with the selling of peerages and knighthoods. But it is good to see the Conservatives back on form.
It is incredible how easy it is for politicians to be creative with their expenses. Does anybody else have a job where they can be so creative in this why? And are there any other jobs where, on being found to be on the fiddle you would not be sacked? Instead these MEPs get another 2 years without the whip to do anything they want with their expenses, during which time they can make more money tax free than the average person earns in 10 years.
