For the first few months of the unofficial mayoral campaign Livingstone could not heap enough praise onto Brian Paddick. He described him as being full of good ideas and someone who he agreed with on most issues. Livingstone was clearly trying to woe the Lib Dem second preference vote.
But not any more!!!!!
Livingstone has a new best friend. Someone who has already promised him her second preference votes, Sian Berry. Poor old Brian Paddick, he's not flavour of the month any more.
And just in case you thought the relationship would just fizzle out without any public spat, think again. Paddicks ex-best mate sticks the knife in, Paddick responds and then Berry gets stuck in too. They are all at it over on the Guardian's Comment is Free blog.
Their supporters must be so proud.

The issues behind the arguments are also quite interesting. Brian and Boris say they want to privatise the underground while Ken claims to oppose this. Ken said "Similarly on London Overground this is a transfer of routes from the privatised national railway network to oversight by TfL. If I had the power I would renationalise the railways tomorrow - their privatisation was a disaster as even the Tories now essentially admit. Certainly I would prefer that I could have a publicly-owned London Overground."
What is interesting about this is that Ken has moved the East London Line from the London Underground system to a privatised model. This was opposed by the RMT. If Ken really is opposed to privatisation then why is he continuing the policy against the wishes of the train drivers?
And I do not see how Boris and Brian can advocate a system that has seen the collapse of Metronet after they came begging to the taxpayers for more money. Railtrack and Metronet prove that rail privatisation is a false economy and disastrous for the travelling public.
"Rats" "fighting" "sacks" springs to mind
Let them tear each other to bits, it won't bother Boris and will only increase the number of second preference votes he gets.
