Blair couldn't negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag. I never thought that Blair would make any great steps forward with his EU negotiations but I didn't think he would allow such a huge step backwards either.
The EU no longer believes in "free and undistorted competition", it is no longer a free trade area! I shouldn't be surprised, Blair has form when it comes to talking up his prowess in taking on the other European leaders and then failing to do so, as you can see here and here.
Our relationship with the EU is increasingly becoming a farce. I'm off to lie down with a cold towel over my head before I lose my temper.

"free and undistorted competition" means stopping the government supporting their own industries. Isn't this just another example of loss of sovereignty? If we abolish a free market as the French wish to (and have never really bought into) then we gain sovereignty in Westminster. Or do you object to gaining sovereignty as well as losing it?
Why should a government support an industry? If the industry is making a loss then it is not competitive. It certainly does not deserve to be lavished with public money. It has nothing to do with sovereignty.
Unless it is the arms industry, farmers, post office, etc
But that is what sovereignty is all about allowing the government, of whatever political persuasion, determining their own economic policies.
It seems to me it has quite a bit to do with sovereignty, at least more than foreign policy, which is our governments attempt to meddle in other countries affairs (and therfore sovereignty)!
