Sore bum and wind

I have started to cycle to work!

There are a number of reasons, which are (in no particular order):
1. I need to lose weight.
2. I need to get fit.
3. Rail and tube fairs are now a joke.
4. Rail and tube carriages are packed, smelly and unreliable.
5. I really need to lose weight.
6. Susie loves me in lyrca.
7. Susie tolerates me in lycra because it means that I am exercising.
8. I can no longer eat what I like without putting on weight.
9. It helps to save the planet.
10. It makes me look a bit like David Cameron.
11. I suspect that Susie fancies David Cameron a bit.
12. I look nothing like David Cameron.

I forgot have much cycling hurts your bum, my arse is agony! And it was very windy this morning (the weather, not my bum) which made it a noticeably harder than the ride in yesterday.

Susie must be very tolerant - ANYONE in Lycra is largely repellant - but I wish you all the best. And the pain in the bum gets better after a month or two, by which time your legs will be like steel hawsers, and Susie will DEFINITELY like them a lot!

Your bum will get used to it! Trust me... I cycled round london for 5 years. You'll get used to cycling, then you'll like it, then you'll need it. Enjoy!

Number 4 is probably the most vital reason but what about the fumes? Do you wear a mask? By the way, did you see Praguetory's post on Rehman& Mark?

James,

Is this new health drive anything to do with you appearing on Blogger TV?

By the way, I loved the way the debate drifted away from the subject into party politics.
I felt program was a good balance of covering the subject and political debate.

Don't worry, they do say they camera adds a few pounds.

Best Regards

Steve

Cheeky sod Steve,

But yes.

The biggest problem was that they had more than one camera!!!!!

Having seen you waiting at Lewisham station, I can't (and don't hope to) see the vision in Lycra. However, congratulations on the cycling. Wish I would do the same. I may disagree with you in many ways politically, but you're doing better than me.
