World Aids Day

Even though global warming and international terrorism have pushed their way into the forefront of our minds we must not forget that there are still millions of people who are HIV positive.

Aids is is still growing and it is essential that none of us get complacent about it, that said medical advances are making it easier for people to manage their lives with HIV and hopefully a cure is not to far away.

There is still much to be concerned about but there is also much to be hopeful about.

In a Vedic Scripture from India there is saying "K Sera Sera" meaning "what has to happen will happen." So when I say this do not get me wrong but afterall is not AIDS but one such thing.. much like cancer or to be somewhat philosophical, like death.. certain things are avoidable but misfortune begets those who choose not to pay heed to the dangers of the path..

Tejus,

All those stupid people who had blood transfusions or lack sex education or whose religion tells them that contraceptives are evil and they will go to hell if they use them. Clearly you think these people deserve to die. It is their own fault for being poor and badly educated.

Your argument and your philosophy are not just inaccurate they are fundamentally amoral. I am sure you will go a long way in the Conservative party.

jimmy - are not the terms moral and amoral merely perspectives.. I would have agreed with you if you had given as an excuse poor education awhile ago.. but now i believe that 95% of the people know the risk that aids holds.. and as for religion.. religion also says that to sleep with more than one woman is wrong.. except islam but that is another issue.. hence being amoral if you want to see it that way is a rather important part of being a realist. is that not so? or am i just being a little too philosophical??

sorry forgot to add.. as regards blood transfusion.. that was really unfortunate.. but as regards the rest I hold my convictions as verified in my second comment..

Seems to me that the advances are being a little swamped by the increase but we mustn't be despondent.

Tejus,
Are babies born with HIV/AIDS, or infected by their mothers during birth or breast feeding, also responsible for their own plight?
In many countries the medicine that would prevent mothers giving birth to babies with HIV is not widely available. You can blame their governments or our government and drugs companies, but to blame to parents or children is unfair.

James,
Sorry for continuing this argument with Tejus, but ignorance kills!
