Great stuff James.
I need to work out this video blogging.
Nick message is very good, but as I have said in my local press last week, Local people don't need to be empowered, they need to be policed. The first and most important group to be empowered are the police themselves.
We need them back on the street with the power and the leadership to do the job we all desperately want and need.
Local people need to be empowered in order that they may be policed, that's the point. At the moment they are policed by Home Office dictat transmitted via politically correct local appointees (Blair and Brunstrom being examples). If local people were empowered to hold their senior officer to account then they would be policed by consent.
I saw you on the telly, James. Just as Cameron was coming out onto the stage.
Am I right or am I right?!!
I wasn't recce platoon commander for nothing you know!
I have to confess it was me on the tellybox. It was going to be my big moment but the this bloke called Dave turned up, made a big speech and stole my thunder.
I don't mind. I like to think of myself as a bit of a talent spotter and I think that young Cameron will do well.
There will be other chances to wow the TV crowds I'm sure.
