Out and about in the sunshine

I had a lovely day today. I was out and about in Battersea and Clapham telling people about the "Open Primary" on Wednesday night, letting them know about my plans if elected and catching up on local issues.

Here is the team of friends and supporters who helped me out today, I would like to say a big thank you to them because they came out dispite having very little notice.

I had chance to catch up with Mark Clarke and congratulate him on becoming Chair of Conservative Future and on his plans to help our target seats. He has promised me a lot of support if I get selected for Battersea, although I am sure he will be a big asset to whoever get the seat.

Because I am used to campaigning in Lewisham I am still getting used to hearing what a great job the council are doing.

I just wanted to say a big thanks to both James and the people of Battersea for making myself and our other campaigners so welcome today. It’s nice to visit somewhere new and to experience this new and revolutionary way of candidate selection in process. Contrary to my initial worries the people who stopped to talk to us were open and seemed enthused about Wednesdays vote. Good luck James and once again a big thank you all.

p.s. Can we come again?

As a national CF person I had heard a lot about James before today and all of it good. Surely it couldn't be true, I thought...!!!Now, having met you, James, it is all true. Great guy, great candiate, great fun! I wish you all the luck in the world for Wednesday, and it was an honour to support you today. Not only did you have CF members from around the country but you made them all feel welcome and part of a team, that is what it is all about! I entirely agree with Mark that we will be doing all we can to get you elected if you are the PPC for Battersea.

Thank you all,

It was great having a big team out, I got so much more done than even I had hoped.

You have given me a lot of confidence in the future of the party.

It was a pleasure to meet you and help you with your campaign yesterday, James.

Good luck for Wednesday - the people of Battersea would be privileged to have such a fine candidate.

They look a great bunch, I met Mark at an event in Westminster during the summer, I'm sure he will be a great chairman.

Since I can't see your e-mail address, you might be pleased to know that Guido is backing you as the best candidate to win Battersea...

Anyway, good luck tonight.
