This piece in the Times blows apart the Lib Dems assertion that they are the real opposition to Labour. It also shows the contempt that the leadership had/has to their own local campaigners.
If you, like me, are frustrated at the way that Labour was able to ignore the wishes of the country and parliament then you can thank the Lib Dems. Their complicity handed Labour a huge parliamentary majority which they have gone on to abuse.

I assume in a later piece you'll be equally damning about the SDP splitting the Labour vote, thereby handing the Conservative government a 144-seat majority which they then went on to abuse.
No, I thought not.
Andy,
Are you telling me that you see no difference between the creation of a political party which splits another party’s vote and two parties colluding behind the backs of their respective memberships?
The UKIP vote probably cost the Conservatives 5-10 seats across the country at the last general election and John Hamilton probably cost both me and Chris votes in May. So be it.
Labour and the Lib Dems in Westminster doing dirty little deals that they knew their own members would disagree with disgusts me.
